When should I place my order? Generally we require at least 2 weeks notice for small orders or 4 weeks notice for larger orders. We will always try to accommodate your order but we do tend to book out in advance so as much notice as possible is always appreciated and will ensure you avoid disappointment. Wedding cakes should be ordered 3-6 months in advance to ensure you don't miss out your event date, particularly during the busy wedding season. How do I place an order? Fill out our online order/quote form. Once we receive the necessary information a fully personalised quotation will be emailed to you. If you are ordering a wedding cake, we can also provide a consultation to discuss your needs as well as a cake tasting opportunity. A 50% non refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining 50% balance is due 4 weeks out from your event for wedding cakes or 7 days out for other events. How much do your cakes cost? See details listed below in the pricing section. Do you offer cake tastings? Yes, we offer tasting boxes for our wedding clients. The cake tasting box can be delivered if you are local to the Cherrybrook area or alternatively can be posted via express mail. The cost of the cake tasting box is $30 however should you choose to go ahead and order your cake from Cake From The Heart this amount will be deducted from your final balance. |
Can we visit you? Sorry to disappoint but no. Cake From The Heart is run from a fully registered and insured home based kitchen and therefore we're not open to the public. We are more than happy to conduct meetings at a mutually convenient location. Do you deliver? Yes! For cakes 2 tiers or larger we suggest that setup and delivery is a must. The cost for delivery is based upon the venue location and travel time. We'll liaise with your venue in relation to delivery so all you need to do is turn up on the day and your masterpiece will be there to ooh and ahh over. Smaller cakes or orders for cookies and cupcakes can be collected from our kitchen in Cherrybrook. How do we cut the cake? Don't worry, your cake will come with a guide showing you how to cut your cake to obtain the maximum number of slices for your guests. It will also contain important information regarding the structure of the cake as well as storage instructions, but we doubt you'll have many leftovers! Are there any special conditions I should know about? Yes, our full terms and conditions can be found below in the terms and conditions section. |
Pricing
Because of the bespoke nature of each cake they are all priced individually based the number of servings required, complexity of your chosen design and the time it takes to execute the design.

As a guide:
- Decorated sugar cookies start at $4.50 each with a minimum order quantity of one dozen
- Cupcakes with a basic buttercream swirl start at $4.50 each with a minimum order quantity of one dozen
- Cake pops start at $4.50 each with a minimum order quantity of one dozen
- A single tier buttercream covered cake with basic decorations starts at $150 and serves up to 12 (coffee sized portions)
- A single tier fondant covered cake with basic decorations starts at $180 and serves up to 12 (coffee sized portions)
- Two tier fondant covered cakes and above start at $270

All fondant cakes are masked in white or dark chocolate ganache to complement the cake flavour, followed by a thin layer of vanilla fondant.

Deposit, cancellation and refund policy

If you need to cancel your order, the refund policy is as follows:

Your consent
- Each quote is valid for 14 days from the date of issue.
- Upon basic size and design constructs of your cake being finalised and proceeding with the order a 50% non refundable deposit will be required.
- Your booking is not considered confirmed until the deposit has been received.
- The balance of the quote is due in full no later than 7 days prior to the date your cake is required, or 4 weeks in the case of wedding cakes.
- Our method of payment is via cash or direct deposit.
- Failure to make payments by the due date MAY result in your order being cancelled; please contact me ASAP to discuss any problems/ possible late payment issues.
In the event of cancellation
- All requests for cancellation must be made in writing.
- If for any reason you need to postpone your event, please contact me immediately. Your new date may or may not be available, but I will try to accommodate you wherever possible. If the new date of your event is available, all monies paid will be transferred to the new date without penalty. If the new date is unavailable, please see the below cancellation policy.
If you need to cancel your order, the refund policy is as follows:
- Cash refunds are not given. A credit voucher will be issued for all monies paid over and above the non-refundable 50% deposit. Credit vouchers are valid for 12 months from your original event date and can be used toward new or existing orders (not valid for use toward booking deposits). Credit vouchers are fully transferable.
- If for some reason we are unable to fulfil your order due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. accident or illness), your deposit will be refunded in full and we will assist you in finding an alternative decorator to complete your order.
Design and flavor changes
- Minor changes to the design will be accepted after a deposit is received up to 4 weeks prior to your event.
- Flavour changes will be accepted up to 2 weeks prior to your event, however this is at Cake From The Heart’s discretion, and is subject to availability.
- Should the design change, Cake From The Heart will endeavor to accommodate your changes, however, I reserve the right to amend the quote accordingly (where applicable) to reflect the changes required. An administration fee may also be charged.
- Any changes to the original order are subject to viability and quote review.
- Date changes must be submitted in writing and the new date is subject to availability.
- Any errors, corrections or updates to your order must be submitted in writing. Your amended order will then be reissued for your records.
- Whilst all care is taken to complete your order as specified – factors including but not limited to weather and supply availability MAY result in design changes. Design changes are at Cake From The Heart’s discretion. All cake designs are subject to artistic license and should I need to make such changes no further correspondence will be entered into.
- In the event that an agreement not be reached on changes to the revised quote, the normal cancellation procedure is applicable.
Allergies
- Cake From The Heart will not be responsible for any allergy related issues.
- Unless it is specified otherwise on your order, all products may contain or come into contact with dairy, wheat, nuts, soy and other allergens. It is the client’s responsibility to inform their guests of any risks.
Setup and delivery
- Setup and delivery is available for some cakes.
- Available delivery is upon my discretion; charges for delivery may apply and will be subject to location of the venue.
- Easy access to the venue needs to be available eg close parking, lift access to higher levels.
- You are welcome to collect your cake, Monday to Saturday by arrangement.
- If you or your representative elects to pick up and set up the cake, you assume all responsibility and liability for the handling of the cake once it leaves my possession.
- Whilst all due care is taken when boxing your cake, cakes transported by you are done so at your own risk.
Storage
- Where cakes are covered in fondant (or have sugar paste flowers or figurines), these should not be refrigerated as this may cause the icing to sweat from condensation.
- Storage of these items should be in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight and away from any heat.
- Buttercream cakes can be stored in a refrigerator however they can be stored in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight and away from any heat.
Non Guarantee
- Cake From The Heart cannot be held responsible for any damage to the cake or products once they are delivered and in the care of a client or the venue. Where a client elects to self-transport, we are not responsible for any damage caused during transportation.
Photo Usage
- Cake From The Heart reserves the right to use any photos we take of your creation for media related activities such as publishing on our website, social media or advertising.
